This week’s Forbes Asia Investment Briefing comes from Adrian Zuercher, Head of Asset Allocation for APAC at UBS Chief Investment Office. He says the markets will be focusing on the trade situation with the U.S. over the coming weeks. Although negotiations between Europe and the U.S. appear to be making progress, on the Chinese side, it appears that tariffs will be increased, which will have an impact on global growth.
The Trump administration is said to be planning to raise tariffs to 25% on $200 billion of Chinese goods, a move that could escalate the trade dispute between the world’s two greatest economies. Zuercher says that UBS has scaled back the risk in its portfolios.
